Leaderboard event
UX/UI
As a designer, a part of my role is to always keep track with our competitors and stay consistent with our other products. We lacked a vital event that is expected from a popular free to play (f2p) game which was a leaderboard with focus on progression and competition.

The challenge was to deliver an event that is smooth and straight forward for the players expectations to be fulfilled. How do we make sure this fits in their loop of play they are used to? I spent time experimenting with different designs and iterating together with my team. I learned that collaboration cross-craft truly is key to identify blockers and for the project to run as planned.
We developed a re-skinnable leaderboard with a focus on motivating players to pass levels and compete against each other. Since the first leaderboard, we've run iterations, re-skinning it to new fun themes with changing the game mechanics slightly, providing players with fresh, fun content resulting in increased engagement and play rounds.
I learned how to better communicate my ideas, iterate in record time, and depend on my team members. And that any project from now on would benefit from always asking; and never suppose.

Extra details for the curious one:
As my responsibility grew and the feature did too; the aforementioned re-skins were one of my main responsibilities. I truly enjoy being the spider in the web and have a high attention to detail, therefore I tended to the overall experience of the iteration "Frosty Flurry Hurry".
We redesigned for the player to collect
ice-creams in the switcher and theme it accordingly. I was responsible for the wireframes, mockups, flow, and content. Frosty Flurry Hurry's name was inspired from the ice-levels in Super Mario 64 mashed up with a friendly octopus opening her own Ice-cream shop. We delivered a fun iteration where the visuals, language, and experience follow a high-quality, consistent event, seen by millions of people.
